I want to add PPE items as needed. How do I actually modify and add PPE to the choices?
The checklist of Personal Protective Equipment Items(PPE) that appears in the detail screen of the safety module, and on the detail screen of the employee classifications is managed by a user definable list. What ever chocies are on teh master list will appear as options on all records in teh database. You can use the checkbox on the detail screen to select which items from the list apply to each person or to each classification.
If you wish to modify the items which appear on this list, go to the preferences choice from the main menu. From there, scroll down about 3/4 of the way and you will see a section that permits you to modify a variety of the user definable lists throughout the system. Clcik into the PPE field, and you will get a grop down list showing the choices. Scroll to the end of the list and you will see a choice labeled EDIT. Select EDIT from the list and a pop-up dialogue will appear with the list in it. You can insert new items in the middle, add new items at the beginning or the end.

Read this if you have already assigned PPE to people or classifications and you are considering removing choices form the user definable list. Otherwise, skip it. Be happy!
If you REMOVE items from the list but they have been already selected/assigned to any individual person or classification, they will no longer display on that persons/classification detail screen. The data is still stored and is not erased, and will effect searches, and custom reports or data exports, but it will be difficult to find or revise. The only way to find these invisible selections, is to ADD that item back to the list (even temporarily). Then, do a search in the database from the safety detail screen or the classification details screen and find any records where this PPE item has been assigned. Un-assign it by unchecking the box, then return to the preferences screen from the main menu and remove that item from the choices.

There are several options for notification
A) Run the Safety Status Report from the reprots menu periodically to be alerted to upcoming and outstanding safety events. The respirator expirations will show up on that report.
B) Go to the preferences screen from the main menu and at the bottom there is a choice to have the program run and look for all alerts every time you start it. This option is at the bottom of the rpeferences screen. This way, if there are any action needed or past due training or safety events, you will be alerted every time you start the program.
Is there a way to print out one employee's records including training, safety, hr, etc.? When I was on an employee's screen I clicked on print and nothing happened. A counter came up on the screen with the number of pages which was steadily increasing. I cancelled when it got to 30.
Your question involves a few separate answers.
Printing information from a screen: You can print the information from any screen. Find the information you are interested in. That could be a detail screen of one individual for any of the modules (training, safety, or HR). Then select Print from the File pull-down menu. When the print dialogue box appears, be sure to select "Current Record" or you'll print pages for the current found set of records which may be large. On this same dialogue box, be sure to confirm that you have selected to print ALL pages, not just a specific page range. Also confirm that you have selected a printer that is available on your network and which is currently "on-line". You may wish to set the page layout to LANDSCAPE when you print.
This will print an exact mirror of the information visable on the screen. If there are more related records that do not display from a specific portal, then they will NOT appear on the print out. In this case it would be better to print a training status report or safety status report. Be sure to specify the search criteria when you run the report so that you limit the results to only those events which are associated with a specific person. Both of these reports are available from the report menu. Read the help topic on the reports screen to learn about requesting a specific search criteria to limit records included in the report.
Question: How do I uninstall the program?
To uninstall the program,
Step 1: Delete the c:/program files/SMART and all sub-directories
Step 2: Delete the desktop short cut
Step 3: Delete the short-cut in the program files program group (click on Start-Program Files, then right-click on the SMART item and click on "Delete")
